2020 was a year none of us will forget anytime soon. Within the span of a few weeks, our lives were turned upside down from a global pandemic, leading to economic and social shutdowns the world over. Suddenly, technology was keeping both our work and social lives from completely disappearing. What had in recent years been a creep towards a more flexible work/life arrangement, became overnight an anomalous merging of the two.

Our appreciation for the essential aspects of our industrialised societies began hitting home, supermarket clerks, onshore manufacturing, public health officials, and frontline workers, all showed their value far beyond the market’s quantification of such.

Amidst this enormous change, our guest today, Dr Sarah Cotton, must have been pinching herself. As a registered and endorsed organisational psychologist, Dr Cotton’s specialisation is in work-stress and work-life wellbeing, which could not be more suited for the times. Sarah’s role at Transitioning Well allows her to help individuals and organisations navigate the challenges of modern work, which have become more pronounced in the age of COVID. With over 20 years of coaching, training, and consulting across the university and corporate sectors, Dr Cotton brings experience and credentials unrivalled in the sector.

Gender issues have been at the forefront of the national psyche in recent weeks, and with International Women’s Day, it is even more special to be able to speak to a female leader in a field of incredible importance in 2021(and beyond)

We thank Sarah for being part of the Manage What Matters series for Mantle.
